During 18 years at DDB New Zealand, he was project lead on some of the country’s most recognised campaigns: the world record-breaking Deep Dive activation with William Trubridge for Steinlager Pure, the return of the iconic White Can for Steinlager during the Rugby World Cup, the Drill Sergeant for SKY Television, and the Brothers campaign that put STIHL on the map in New Zealand.

Mike has spent 30 years across New Zealand’s creative industries – ad agencies, film production, design studios, and outdoor media – while staying deeply connected to the action sports world he never stopped caring about.
He created Red Bull Defiance: a two-day multisport race in Wanaka that he conceived, developed, and ran until Red Bull Global took notice and put their name on it. It ran for four consecutive years.
