STIHL had been at the National Fieldays for years. Their stand was big, their product range impressive – but it had become predictable. We set out to make it the most talked-about booth at one of New Zealand’s largest events.

Transform a well-known but stale trade show presence into something genuinely surprising – something that stops people in their tracks and keeps them talking long after they’ve left the stand.

Solution

We launched ‘The Sharpest Cut in Town’: a fully operational barbershop inside the STIHL stand, staffed daily by two barbers from a local franchise throughout the entire Fieldays run. Free haircuts for anyone who stopped by. The result was a constant queue, organic social sharing, and a brand association that had nothing to do with brochures or price lists – and everything to do with being genuinely generous and a bit unexpected.
