We created a fully portable shot put arena and toured it nationwide, inviting the public to step up and throw. The distances achieved by Dame Valerie Adams and Tom Walsh were marked on the ground – giving every participant an immediate, visceral sense of just how extraordinary those athletes are. The activation travelled to schools, sports events, and public spaces, putting the Commonwealth Games in the hands of the public months before the opening ceremony.
