New sports were being introduced to the 2021 Tokyo Olympics - with skateboarding and surfing being the highest-profile.

Our challenge was to create a ‘vehicle’ that would capture attention of the new sports, drive engagement and educate youth on when and how these new sports could be watched. At the same time, educate on the new pathways for kiwi youth with the Olympic Games

Our response was to build the world’s biggest skateboard measuring 12m long x 3m wide and hit the streets.

The board was taken on a nationwide 40-day road trip visiting schools, skateparks, surf beaches and iconic NZ landmarks to raise awareness of the Tokyo 2021 Olympics.
